Title: Which material is the best insulator?
Strand: Properties and Characteristics
Strand Unit: Materials and Change

Equipment: Foam cups, bubble wrap, tinfoil, thermometer, stopwatch, boiling water

Method:

• First we placed three cups on the table
• We put bubble wrap around one, tinfoil around one and left another one with nothing on it
• Next with the help of our teacher we put boiling water into the cups
• We left them for 2 minutes
• We checked the temperature using the thermometer after 2 minutes

Result:

• We found that bubble wrap was the best insulator.
