Lullymore

Science > Discover Centre

For our Second Class school tour we went to visit Lullymore Heritage and Discovery Park.

We went to the playground and took a ride on the train but we mostly enjoyed the Biodiversity Boardwalk. The boardwalk is over a bog and we saw many interesting things such as bog cotton and a bog body. WARNING: make sure you do not fall into the bog or else you might end up in a museum, as the peat in the bog can preserve bodies for thousands of years.

We learned about the flora and fauna around the bog (and what flora and fauna means!). We also went into two different types of houses from long ago – an early Christian house and a house from famine times. We got to visit a petting farm too and we really enjoyed feeding the goats. We really enjoyed our school tour.
