Harvest Festival 2013

School Garden

Scoil Mhuire's first ever Harvest Festival was held on Mon. 21st and Tues. 22nd of October. The festival celebrated the wonderful food grown in our fruit and vegetable gardens. The theme of this year's festival was 'Science is fun in a School Garden!' There were many interesting and interactive exhibits on display in the school hall. The GIY Kids were at hand to help teachers, students and parents. The festival was organised by Ms McKenna with help from Ms Molloy, Ms Heywood, parents and pupils of the GIY club. There was also a garden produce shop. Thank you to parents who supported our garden by purchasing apples, smoothies, raspberry rock buns, homemade jams, jellies, pesto and chutney. There were also a number of plants on sales.
