Water Flag

Our third Green Flag was the Water Flag. As part of their work the girls in the Green Schools Committee did an audit of everything in the school using water. We put hippos in the toilet cisterns and discovered that we saved almost enough water in one school year to fill our local swimming pool, Stewarts. The winning slogan for saving water in our school was:

"Do the world a favour,Be a Water Saver".

We also had competitions for water conservation. During our Day of Action work was carried out in all the classes on the water cycle, access to water, water experiments, water based art and writing water poems. The girls in 4th class even made a new pupil from plastic bottles!

It was a very interesting topic and we received our Water Flag in May 2011.
